We are seeking an experienced, technically savvy and highly organized Product Manager who will lead a cross-functional team through idea generation and discovery, product definition, development and product launch. The Product Manager is responsible for managing August's software products, coordinating projects with internal teams and external partners to achieve the company's desired product and business outcomes.
Specific day-to-day tasks include planning and precisely specifying the behavior of software components, collaborating with the dev team to drive new feature development and bug fixes, coordinating usability testing, and communicating progress to the executive team.
A degree in a technical discipline is not strictly required, but applicants without this background are expected to have a strong understanding of software technology that is a result of professional experience. Knowledge of at least one programming language is a major plus.
Responsibilities
-Understand and synthesize customer needs from market research, analytics, competitive insights
-Define a product vision that impresses users and inspires the development team
-Developing, refining, prioritizing and tracking the implementation of requirements and new features
-Managing relationships with external partners and vendors
-Maintaining the company's bug databases
-Designing usability studies, running them, and improving product features based on the results
Requirements
-5+ years of product management experience
-Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering
-Experience in driving product schedules and a track record of delivering results
-Strong design sense and appreciation of what it takes to deliver a world class user experience
-Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including engineering, design, operations and business sponsors
-Deep understanding of the design implementation and release of software product

-Experience with Consumer Facing Products
-Experience with user-centered design
-Hands-on knowledge of using databases
-Ability to code in at least one programming language
-Experience of usability testing
-Well versed with agile methodologies
