Wind River, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), is a world leader in embedded and mobile software. Wind River's products and professional services are used in multiple markets including aerospace and defense, automotive, digital consumer, industrial, and network infrastructure.

We are seeking an Automotive Architect to lead a team developing a "ground up" android based infotainment system for a world class OEM. The Architect will lead innovation for the entire organization from a technology perspective. And will be the customer interface for discovery and evaluation of requirements.


Automotive Architect


Key Areas of Responsibility

� Oversees a technology area and is responsible for innovation and leading an entire organization from a technology perspective
� Shows leadership by setting and articulating quality standards through work examples and active participation in projects and the technical leadership council (TLC)
� Writes, presents and publishes technical papers and represents the company at external public forums, standards committees, open source community and to our customers
� Is the primary customer interface for discovery and evaluation of requirements and has a track record of being able to foresee and successfully meet customer needs
� Supports the team in providing formal project proposals and has primary responsibility for requirements, feature set, architecture and task breakdown, schedule estimates, and risk management
� Explores new technologies and determines need and business viability of vertical extensions around Wind River product and services capabilities
� Able to provide technical input and support the definition of Wind River business Automotive market strategy
� Contributes in definition of focus and effort to build up technical skills and IP in Wind River strategic areas
� Be able to carry full responsibility for specifying, obtaining and maintaining a high level of technical excellence across the Automotive business


Position requirements:

� 4-year technical degree, advanced degree preferred
� Minimum 8+ years relevant engineering experience (embedded automotive) with prior development experience with digital living, wireless and 3G applications
� Proven technical leadership and deep automotive specific technical skills
� Track record of expertise in one or more automotive specific technology (Telematics, Infotainment)
� Excellent writing and verbal skills; very good presentation skills
� Outstanding decision making skills and judgment, independent work
� Has track record for spearheading major innovations in product functionality technology or methods
� Demonstrate diverse skills and is an expert in one or more major company technologies
� Proven track record of successful design, development, integration and debug of complex systems
� Must be a hands-on type of person with the ability to take initiatives
� Proven ability to technically mentor and educate junior staff but also to multitask and provide technical leadership on a number of concurrent programs
� Self motivated
