Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a part-time Sr. Data Analytics Consultant for a short-term assignment for one of our networking technology clients. The Consultant will develop and investigate hypotheses and build mathematical models to identify services optimization points that will encourage customers to utilize and increase services use. This statistically-minded consultant will build and develop these predictive models by leveraging the Services Marketing Organization's large data assets. Findings from these models will be leveraged to predict market and customer trends and utilized to build road maps for future service offerings.
The ideal consultant has the capability to assist in bridging the technical gaps currently existing within our clients' team. Must have a consultative/mentor mindset with the willingness to train a team with varying skillsets on the process of taking descriptive big market data and synthesizing it into predictive models.
Specific responsibilities:
Propose innovative and unique approaches to utilize large structured and unstructured big data to develop predictive trending and forecasting
Ability to utilize existing data, understand it, visualize it, process it, extract value from it and communicate it
Employ the use of data mining techniques such as pattern detection, graph analysis, or statistical analysis
Examine data from a variety of disparate sources and discover hidden insights
Define collection processes and create infrastructure and framework to support analyses
Develop operating and predictive models using experimental and iterative methods and techniques
Train analytic peers of varying expertise levels on creation and use of predictive analytics models
Visualize and report data findings in a variety of formats to a variety of internal audiences
Skills:�
7-10 years of experience developing/investigating hypotheses and building predictive mathematical models, ideally with experience working within or in support of Marketing departments to identify services optimization points
Must have prior experience working for at least one large, enterprise company, ideally in the technology sector (not required)
Hands on experience with databases and database query language (SQL)
Mastery in the latest tools used for analytics in the web and mobile space, e.g.: Coremetrics, Unica (IBM Digital Analytics/EMM), WebTrends, Google Analytics, Omniture SiteCatalyst, Flurry, etc.
Demonstrated experience mining large, disparate data
Expertise in statistical techniques such as logistic regression, decision trees, neural networks and clustering
Solid understanding of statistical modeling/predictive analysis/machine learning/data mining/recommender system concepts
Experience with machine learning algorithms and developing algorithms and predictive models to solve real world business problems strongly preferred
Tactical and quantitative problem solving ability
Experience with development processes such as Agile or Lean
Good presentation and communication skills
Strong problem solving and logical skills
B.S. or higher in Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field required
RATE: D.O.E., as W-2 employee of Crawford Group
LOCATION: Primarily offsite/virtual/WFH. Must have the flexibility to attend occasional meetings onsite at clients� office in San Jose, CA. No phone calls, please; Local SF Bay Area candidates only.
HOURS/DURATION:�PT, 20 hours/week, flexible within typical business hours. This is a project based assignment starting June 16, 2014, ending October 24, 2014.
