TITLE: Hardware Engineer/ Fiber Optical Modules and Components
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client is an established optical company in Sunnyvale, CA. They are seeking a Sr. hardware engineer with Optical Module and component experience to add to their team.
Specific Duties include:
Primary responsibility is Design and Development of Fiber Optic Modules. This includes simulation, modeling, analysis, design and characterization of optical and electrical performance of Fiber Optic Transceivers.
Part of multi-disciplinary engineering team working on transceiver products from conception to manufacturing
REQUIRED SKILLS:
BS degree, MS preferred
Minmum of 2 years of relevant experience, 5 years preferred.
Demonstrated electronic design capability.
Strong laboratory measurement skills required.
Experience with CAD tools for designing electronics.
Understanding of microprocessors and real time control firmware
Experience in designing electrical circuits, including understanding of circuit theory, linear system theory, feedback systems, with background in circuits such as switching power supplies
DESIRED SKILLS:
Skills in developing Fiber Optic transceivers such as XFP, SFP+ XENPAK, X2, QSFP, or CFP are a Plus
Expertise in RF design using modeling tools such as HFSS is a plus.
Background in ESD, EMI, RFI, NEBS and product safety design, qualification and test a Plus.
Familiarity with Product Development methodology from concept, through design, to manufacturing is Desired.
