Position title: Technical Software Consultant/Implementation Consultant/Professional Services Consultant
Location(s): Anywhere in U.S.(Prefeered locations are West coast and New York/New Jersey areas)
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, technical and results oriented individual to join our client's solution delivery team as Technical Software Consultant. This individual will provide technical solution expertise to successfully implement company offerings and will deliver reference able customers.
Position responsibilities:
Customer engagements consist of planning, implementing, analysis, training (knowledge
transfer) and customer mentoring of the company's product to drive product adoption and meet
project objectives.
The Technical Software Consultant will manage costumer expectations to be in line with agreed
upon business and technical requirements, allowing the delivery of high quality
implementations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
The Technical Software Consultant will provide strong leadership and communication within the
company, and as part of the customers' project team.
The Technical Software Consultant will become a subject matter expert on the company's best
practices, providing knowledge transfer and promoting company solutions both internally and to
external customer, and making recommendations for product enhancements.
Required skills and experience:
Technical BS degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer
Engineering.
Requires minimum of 2+ years experience delivering solutions in an enterprise software
environment or equivalent industry experience.
Experience managing issues, projects, deadlines, and documentations in a client facing
environment.
Client facing experience in big heterogeneous complex application environments such as in
fortune 500 companies.
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation, along with a high level
of professionalism.
Creativity finding solutions to problems and ability to multi-task during complex projects.
Travel as needed to client sites
Knowledge of complex heterogeneous multi-tier web applications, and experience in several of
the following technologies:
o OS: Unix, Linux, Windows
o Web/Application Servers: Apache, SunOne/iPlanet, IIS/.NET, Tomcat, Weblogic,
Websphere, JBoss
o Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, DB2
o Message Bus: Tibco EMS & BusinessWorks, IBM MessageBroker & MQ
Proven hands-on experience installing and configuring complex software products, in Unix,
Linux, and Windows server environments.
Experience with application or systems performance and monitoring products a plus but not a
must
Object-oriented programming technical skills in Java, C++, or C# a plus but not a must
Candidates of particular interest for this role are those with experience with software from companies such as H-P/Mercury, Opsware, Proactivenet, Bladelogic, NetQOS, Tealeaf, BMC-Patrol, NetIQ, Coradiant, Compuware, Managed Objects, Quest Software, Computer Associates/Wily/Concord Communications, Amberpoint, Netuitive, IBM/Micromuse, Aternity, Nimsoft, Knoa, IBM/Tivoli, Hyperformix, Oblicore, VMware, Empirix, Gomez, EMC/SMARTS, H-P/Openview, or any others in this space are desired but not a must.
