The Data Services Manager is responsible for the design, implementation and management of the enterprise systems providing decision support through reporting and Data analysis supporting Pacific Pulmonary Oxygen, Sleep and Respiratory Medication business as well as the Finance and IT departments. In addition, the Data Services Manager is responsible for managing several Data Analysts tasked with the activities necessary to insure the timely production and dissemination of accurate reports, Data and management information. The Data Services Manager will be responsible for driving the Data governance strategies and approaches for Data cleansing, enrichment and enhancement. The Data Services Manager will also act as the liaison between the Data/information customers to provide requirement analysis and specification support for the Data/information needs.
Job Responsibilities:
Leads design of system customizations and enhancements, complementary Data overlays and decision support tools.
Establishing and maintaining a Data Governance group that will develop Data quality standards, validate the quality and integrity of the customer master and account Data and ensure Data cleansing guidelines are developed, implemented and followed within the business.
Manages analysts and senior analysts to include managing the full recruiting process, the development of analysts and/or senior analysts, providing coaching and feedback, performance management and providing day to day oversight including directing, assigning and prioritizing work.
Working with the Infrastructure Operations group design and establish Data marts, Data warehouses, Data cubes and access methodologies as required.
Creating functional and technical specifications based on business requirements and needs.
Ensuring that required algorithms and reports are created and generated accurately in a timely manner for review, analysis and subsequent submission to the customers.
Conducting project based Data analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
Analyze and evaluate requests for reports and develop procedures to extract Data from the various Data sources and the corporate Data warehouse using report writers and Data extract tools.
Developing Data flows, pseudo-code, report mockups to validate business requirements.
Skills/Qualifications:
Familiarity with Data model concepts as well as business operations, operating systems and process.
Experience with master Data management, Data dictionary, Data analytics and Data profiling
Demonstrated ability to lead and support projects from beginning to end
Self-starter, ability to work independently in a fast paced environment while delivering solid action-oriented results quickly
Highly collaborative team-oriented individual, who has proven ability to build relationships with technical and business resources
Proven experience implementing policies and procedures
Understands and ensures privacy law and standards
Ability to understand, communicate and solve complex business and technical issues clearly and accurately
Ability to work creatively and collaboratively with IT and business stakeholders to effectively implement, optimize and leverage analytics solutions to meet business needs.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
Ability to design easy-to-digest dashboards and to write clear, concise presentations summarizing Data insights, results, and implications
Willingness to step into client engagements at different phases (i.e. pitching new business, discovery phase, on-going maintenance) to help ground projects in Data-driven decision-making
Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server Development (T-SQL, stored procedures).
Proficient in Crystal Reports, Cognos Report Studio and SSRS.
Must have solid functional knowledge of relational Databases, Data warehouses and SSAS.
Proficient in report documentation and auditing procedures.
Ability to communicate complex information in simple terms.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information systems or equiv. work experience required.
4-6 years' experience in a reporting, business intelligence environment.
Experience in a healthcare or healthcare related field is a plus.
