The Network Engineer will serve as the primary technical resource supporting Xtime corporate networks and security.

Responsibilities

Manage, optimize and support the Xtime corporate wired and wireless network infrastructure

Oversee and monitor systems and network security, recommending and implementing technology, processes and practices to protect Xtime networks and computer assets from threats

Support corporate networking needs in Redwood City, California, three other U.S. remote office locations, one in Canada and various international locations

Work with third parties and cloud service providers to monitor, troubleshoot and resolve operational issues and automate processes; manage relationships with Internet Service Providers and carriers

Support SaaS VOIP telephone services

Work closely with Production Operations and Facilities groups on solutions

Possibly assist IT system administration staff in support of virtualized servers and both Windows and Mac endpoint workstations through group policies and virus protection

Capacity plan, identify trends and construct plans to address needs

Provide on-call support as necessary for corporate IT environments

Desired Skills Experience

5+ years of experience in network administration supporting small to mid-size companies

Demonstrated ability to build and scale an IT infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, switches, firewalls, security and VoIP telephony

Strong knowledge of Cisco networking fundamentals

Strong networking skills with proven, in-depth experience managing and configuring routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and wireless equipment

Solid understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, 802.11, IPsec, SSL/IPSec client and site-to-site VPN, MPLS, and VoIP/SIP

Experience with Barracuda ISP load balancing

Able to work independently with solid project management skills including the ability to scope projects, analyze alternatives, make management recommendations and implement solutions

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

CCNA or CCIE certification a plus

Strong knowledge and experience in security systems and methods for multi-site distributed environments

Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
