Sr. Technical Product Manager: e-Commerce Platform
Location: San Francisco
Our San Francisco client has a great opportunity for someone who wants to transition from QA or Engineering into a Product Management role. This position is 50% operational and 50% feature development. This team processes orders, payments, bonuses, etc. Integrates with affiliate networks As the Technical Product Manager, you will build, manage and grow the integration framework/data processing technology of their next-generation multi-tenant affiliate e-Commerce platform. This is a great opportunity to drive the functionality that creates business advantages and enhances transactional system integration
Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders across the enterprise to define requirements
- Develop product roadmaps through deep understanding of customers, technologies, and competition.
- Design and enhance a manageable, scalable, easy to monitor integration platform – adding new core features like real-time integration, real-time monitoring, etc.
- Build out local international networks in key markets
- Manage the development team using Agile methodology
- Write user stories
- Create API definitions
- Create and monitor system performance vs. targets
- Work closely with the team managing other parts of the platform – back end, front-end applications, shopping cart, etc.
- Drive creation of platform documentation
Qualifications
- 5-7 years' experience in consumer or ecommerce platform product management, QA, or engineering
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- Passionate about building great products and solving customer and technology problems.
- Experience with Agile development methodology, as well as PRD's for larger projects and roadmap development.
- Detail oriented approach to product planning.
- Motivational leadership style.
Requirements
- RESTful API and framework constructs – must be able to articulate how to add functionality to the platform integration framework to support desktop web and mobile experiences.
- Read partner API docs and use them to build stories
- Use tools to test partner APIs to validate requirements
- SQL query skills to examine results of processing and investigate possible issues
- Solid understanding of extract-transform-load techniques
- Working knowledge of Jira
- Working knowledge of Java, Postgres, Tomcat, Apache Camel/ Smooks, JBoss Drools (rules engine)
