[KITlist-Tech] Applied Research Analytics Product Engineer (Santa Clara, CA)

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join at the ground floor of a fast moving startup in a massive market that is seeing tremendous discontinuity.

We are looking for an engineer to join our solutions team reporting to the VP of Solutions and working closely with the Chief Scientist. You will have ownership of applying the right science to solve a customer's business needs and will typically work with customers who are partnering on advanced solutions.

You will work closely with the science leadership team to determine the best approach to a given customer's needs. This would include coming up with the hypothesis and testing them against customer's data to finalize the modeling approach.

You should be a strong applied research engineer that can bridge the gap between algorithms and customer requirements. You should be comfortable working in an agile development environment with iterative releases.

Position Responsibilities:
• Come up with the right hypothesis to test and finalize modeling approach to a customer's needs
• Work closely with solutions management, science and other engineering leaders to delight the customer
• Contribute to the evolution of core GRASP engine algorithms based on real world applications
• Ownership for high quality and on-time delivery of configured models for customer deployment

Position Requirements
• 5 years experience in applied research in areas of data-mining as applied to consumer data required
• Experience in deploying data mining into real world applications required
• Experience in working with large volumes of consumer data with an eye for detail required
• Understanding of data-mining, algorithms, statistics and optimization required
• Hands-on experience in building systems that use machine learning techniques, such as logistic regression, Naïve Bayes, SVM, decision trees, neural networks, and random forests desirable
• Experience with Hadoop, HBase, Membase and related open source technologies desirable
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required

Education and Experience
• MS/BS in Computer Science
• 5 years of experience in the industry
