Title: SAS Base Programmer
Location: San Jose, CA (prefers local candidates)
Duration: 6 mos+ (renewable per quarter)
The ideal candidate will developing models for forecasting and for other relevant analysis for the team. You will also be involved in other special projects requiring statistical and econometric models. Calibration of historical data using several variables as well as simulation, sensitivity and scenario analysis constitute a significant part of the modeling process.
You will be a part of a team that provides market estimates/forecast for different products and services across countries, industries and employee size classes. The estimates/forecast are obtained using econometric and statistical models.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional experience with strength in SAS programming
- PhD in Econometrics or Statistics OR Masters in Econometrics or Statistics
- 3+ yrs experience in building econometric and statistical models
- Experience and Proficiency in using SAS (Base certification level).
- Knowledge of additional statistical software such as Eviews, Mathematica, Matlab will be an advantage.
- Experience working with very large datasets
- Team Player with high degree of self-motivation
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal and communication skills
- Detail oriented, fast learner with strong analytical organizational skills
MUST SKILLS:
- Graduate level training(preferably PhD) in Statistics or Econometrics
- Experience in Data mining, building econometric models in general (time series models, ARIMA models, structural equations, other types of forecasting models and the ability to do all this in SAS)
