Digital photo+video retoucher/technician
An established commercial photography studio based in San Francisco is seeking an excellent digital photo retoucher/technician. Work includes a range of photographic styles with an emphasis on studio product photography. Many current clients include tech product companies and international publications.
Job responsibilities:
• Retouching of and preparation of final high res files
Photostacking images using Helicon software and Photoshop (create one completely focused image from a batch of images with varying focal points)
Production of digital videos for both products and digital magazines (including processing, editing, color correction, and final preparation).
• Handle work flow during photoshoots (both in studio and on location)
• Maintain detailed work flow which includes basic color correction during shoots
• Follow file naming and processing protocols to keep jobs organized
• Deadline driven projects, flexible with hours (some days are long on a shoot)
• Willingness to pitch in and help however needed
Qualifications:
This position is a critical piece in the workflow of the studio. Being able to work with a team under pressure while creating excellent quality image adjustments is key.
• Proficient in Photoshop, Aperture, Helicon, Capture One
• Knowledge of Final Cut, Motion 5
• Experience working in Mac OS workflow (including image compression, FTP, etc. )
• 3 years industry experience minimum
• Good sense of humor
• Posses strong work ethic including good problem solving ability and self motivation
• Attention to detail and high quality standards
• Enjoys working in a small, open studio environment
• Passionate about photography and has a strong interest in technology
• Always striving to improve skills and knowledge
Details:
This is a full-time position with salary and benefits commiserate with experience. The hours are deadline and client-driven, so availability is critical and expected if key assignments come up.
