BUSINESS ANALYST
Mountain View, California
(Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000, depending on experience)

CPP, Inc. is looking for a Business Analyst just like you! You will play a key role in our accelerated efforts towards realizing data as an asset for the organization so that CPP can take full advantage of all available customer and transaction information.
You will have primary responsibility for:
I. Analysis and Reporting (70%)
Provide business owners with information, insights and processes for better decisions and better results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business problems into information that drives better decision-making.
• Respond to ad hoc reporting requests from internal customers, providing them with the insights they need to address their business problems.
• Supply business owners with information and analyses, combining data points from ERP system, Salesforce.com and other data sources. Work towards automating reoccurring reports where indicated and whenever possible. Evolve and improve reports over time.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales on targets for direct marketing, cross sell, up sell and business retention initiatives. Where feasible, introduce self-service solutions.
• Build Salesforce.com and ERP environment reports and dashboards based on user requests and business needs.
• Develop key performance indicators (KPI) and manage KPI reports and dashboards in support of CPP's strategic initiatives and goals.
• Collaborate with business owners on primary and secondary market research projects, spearhead survey creation, deployment, and especially subsequent results analysis and presentation.
• Provide data mining, data modeling and related analyses for revenue, sales, ROI and unit forecasting, customer/market segments, as well as product pricing decisions.
• Supply reporting, analysis, insights and other pre-work for CPP's strategic planning activities.
• Attend meetings and participate in projects as Business Analytics Department representative.
• Support Director of Business Analytics with other projects as assigned.
II. Customer Data Quality (30%)
Work continuously and proactively towards improving the quality and accuracy of CPP's global customer, prospect, and transactional data points in ERP System, Salesforce.com, Marketo and other systems incorporating customer and transactional data information.
• Collaborate with Data Steward on auditing global customer data and selected other data points according to established guidelines and work towards correcting or appending data when needed.
• Establish processes and set up automated jobs that identify duplicate records within ERP system and Salesforce.com, as well as between the two systems utilizing various data mining tools. Train and collaborate with Data Steward.
• Proactively monitor for problem areas and drive issue resolution.
• Automate data auditing, data cleansing, de-duping, merging processes and related reporting as much as and whenever possible.
• Spearhead CPP's customer data enrichment activities. Manage CPP's OneSource implementation and ensure Business Analytics adequately employs the tool to improve and enrich our customer data.
• Scan the marketplace for tools that will further improve our data quality. Implement and subsequently own those tools.
• Act as global go-to person for all customer data quality related questions.
You are an exceptional candidate and have:
• BA/BS degree in Economics/Econometrics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Business Administration, Marketing or Management with strong quantitative focus. MBA a plus.
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, paired with great attention to detail.
• Solid foundation in statistical techniques, financial analysis, market research and forecasting methodologies required.
• Minimum five to seven years of experience in Business Analyst capacity. Prior experience supporting sales and marketing ideal. Consulting background considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access or other data-mining tools to extract and analyze data. SQL knowledge a plus.
• Understanding of relational databases and experience working with large sets of data.
• Proven track record of translating complex data sets into actionable information. Ability to deep dive into data while seeing the big picture and taking shortcuts where appropriate.
• Some familiarity with Salesforce.com and web analytics a plus.
• Innovative and adaptable with an interest in finding 'better ways to do things".
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects, to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable working in environment with little structure and sometimes conflicting priorities.
