Position: Member of Technical Staff – Technical Support
Location: Alameda, Ca. OR Canton, Ma.

Wind River Systems has a solid opportunity for a uniquely qualified individual. We are seeking an excellent communicator, written and verbal, with a strong desire and ability to take on highly technical challenges posed by highly technical customers; developers and programmers who are using our products, including our flagship VxWorks embedded real-time operating system. This person will become part of, and collaborate with, our fantastic Wind River Customer Support team and will:
• Provide technical customer support on Wind River products
• Communicate effectively with customers to debug and resolve their issues in a timely and professional manner
• Communicate effectively with product development, account teams and management; tracking, reporting and managing customer situations.
• Document solutions for future reference allowing customer self sufficiency
• Proactively contribute content to the various knowledge bases within Wind River
• Participate in support process improvement activities
Experience should include:
• Experience with RTOS including VxWorks.
• Development and Debugging of applications written in C.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues in a real-time embedded environment.
• Experience with device drivers, Board Support Packages (BSPs) and HW design.
• Familiarity of major processor families: PowerPC, Intel and ARM.
• UNIX, Linux, and Windows host environments.
• Familiarity in networking applications, Core TCP/IP, Multicasting, Routing, etc.
• Familiarity with C++ usage.
• Knowledge of DO-178B, multi-processor software design, and embedded virtualization (desired, but not required).
• A history of working well in a collaborative environment.
• Self-managed, fast learner with the desire and ability to master new technologies.
Please note: this is not an IT/System Admin/Help desk role, nor is it a Product Development role; however, due to the specific technical knowledge needed to assist our customers, strong programming skills are required.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or related technical field, and 5 years of related occupation.
