About this position:
Are you interested in building products used by millions of people? Do you like shipping code at a rapid pace? Rocketlawyer is seeking an experienced Front End Engineer that is passionate about building mobile and desktop web applications. This position is full-time and is based in our San Francisco office.
Responsibilities:
• Work with Product Designers to implement the next generation of Rocketlawyer products
• Build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Interact with other team members to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
• Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering
Job Requirements
Requirements:
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript
• Expert knowledge of latest web technologies (HTML5/CSS3)
• Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components
• Aware of but not reliant on Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks (JQuery, Prototype JS, MooTools, Dojo, etc.)
• Experience with integrating back-end web services, via REST-based APIs.
• Experience developing rich applications with HTML/CSS/JS/AJAX
• Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking
• 3+ years of experience building web applications
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Highly Desired
• Knowledge of web architecture and the HTTP protocol.
• Experience with Angular.js, Backbone.js and Handlebars.js
• Experience with MVC development.
• Knowledge of caching strategies.
• Experience developing responsive web sites for web, tablets, and smart phones.
