Title: Business Data Analyst - SQL
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6 mos+ (renewable quarterly)
Experis has a Business Data Analyst position that requires very good SQL and data analytics background.
Key Skills:
- 7 + years total experience as a Business Data Analyst with 3-5 years developing SQL (Oracle, Teradata)
- Experience with subscription business model
- Experience with understanding business metrics
- Experience with providing analytical insights to answer business questions
- Experience with using one or more reporting systems (Cognos, OBIEE, and Crystal Reports)
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, proactive and collaborative
- Excellent team player with ability to learn new skills and willingness to contribute on team projects
- Excited to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and deliver multiple projects concurrently
- BS in Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics or related field
Key Responsibilities:
-Understand business model and measurement of business success
-Translate business requirements into data knowledge to answer business questions (know what data to pull and what the data means)
-Develop SQL queries for data extraction, analysis and reporting based on the business requirements
-Understand existing SQL code and make any required modifications
-Verify accuracy of data extracted for reporting
-Analyze problem incidents, debug SQL and implement fixes.
-Design an efficient reporting solution for the specific business requirement
-Understand reporting, know how to use reporting tools and automate reports and deliverables
-Apply business knowledge to analyze the results in the report, generate insights and findings from the results and make recommendations on possible actions for business success
-Work with cross functional stakeholders on data needs
-Dependable analyst who is hands on and willing to learn and build upon learnings
-Self-starter who can work independently but also interact and thrive in a team environment
-Perform all task and respect deadlines
-Solid problem solving skills and solution oriented
- The Business Analyst will work on highly complex problems and interact with senior leadership.
- The Business Data Analyst must have strong analytical and reporting skills, and also develop SQL based solutions for business requirements.
- Experience in understanding business objectives, metrics extract, analyzing large sets of data, have strong SQL writing and analytics skills.
- Experience in designing efficient and robust reporting solutions, possess strong communication skills, as well as project management skills.
