Title: Junior Lab Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA.
Contract: 3+months (renewed quarterly)

We are located in the main Cisco campus in San Jose. We are looking for a Junior Lab Engineer who is a motivated self-starter. We are responsible for supporting a global group of senior engineers and is an integral part of our larger Marketing team.

Job Description:
The main focus of this position will be working on building testbeds with a base configuration, utilizing lab tools such as ticket/case system and an asset management system. Additional responsibilities include general lab operations tasks such as shipping & receiving, RMAs and general lab upkeep. Successful candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high degree of analytical and investigative skills. This is an hourly temp position with Cisco.

Responsibilities:
Possess excellent organization skills to project manage your own assigned projects
- Build testbeds requested with base configuration
- Maintain ticket /case system to track correspondence
- Maintain asset management database to track hardware inventory
- Provide telephone and email support
- Work collaboratively with other lab engineers to solve complex issues
- Shipping and receiving of equipment
- Track / document items for RMA
- Generate and review wiki knowledgeable articles

Requirements:
- 2 years of professional work experience
- Cisco Certification (CCNA level or IOS XR Specialist Certification) preferred - unless you can demonstrate that you have enough networking work experience that makes this a moot point
- Experience with IOS XR is preferred
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge/understanding of Linux and tools preferred
- Must be a self starter and highly motivated to get things done proactively
- Able to keep up in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- High level of accuracy
- Team player
- Must be able to work 40 hours/week
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be somewhat knowledgable about using tools - you will be doing racking and stacking so you need to be comfortable using hand tools and rack lifts
- Must have work authorization that permits you to work in the US
