SAP Application Analyst | Synopsys, Inc.

The SAP Application Analyst is responsible for day to day management of the SAP material master, Variant Configuration, Configuration Profiles, BOMs, Object Dependencies, pricing tables and licensing configurations required for new product setup, rollout, changes and obsolescence requests. The position requires working knowledge of manufacturing operations, customer administration, release engineering, revenue recognition and accounting and finance along with product and corporate marketing as it relates to current business practices. The position supports, enforces, and sustains all Synopsys product promotions and sales programs ensuring they can be introduced, booked, processed, delivered, invoiced, reported and maintained throughout their life cycle. The position has a significant matrix impact on numerous organizations and requires leadership, teamwork, and a high degree of ownership and drive.

General Responsibilities

Administration, review and interpretation of web-based product and release request workflow applications.
Guide, collaborate, and support cross functional organizations (Product Marketing Managers, Sales Operations, Release Engineering, and overall business infrastructure (Revenue Recognition, Legal, other areas w/in Corporate OPS, etc.) ensuring all products and SAP configurations conform to accepted business practices and the SAP system set-up.
Data translation, create, maintain, and troubleshoot SAP material configurations, Variant Configuration, configuration profiles, pricing rules, bills of materials and Object Dependencies mapping, and bill of features within SAP.
Test SAP configuration set-ups and enhancements.
Apply new system rules and alterations to existing configuration structure.
Implement SAP Configuration and License Generation in support of Mergers & Acquisitions integrations.
Assure the accuracy of all product, package and sales bundle information set-up and communication.
Partner w/IT EBS on SAP solutions & Integrations (including UAT set-up & support).
Identify and track key metrics to promote continuous process improvement.
Define and continually improve business processes for gathering, reviewing, consolidating and maintaining product information in SAP.
Lead, partner, and/or participate in cross-functional project teams responsible for developing, testing and implementing new SAP processes, business models, systems (including system upgrades), SAP enhancements, and/or SAP bug fixes.
Experience

Familiar with SAP and Lead-to-collect processes required. Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of related experience in SAP configuration management, materials management, logistics, production scheduling and/or planning.
Ability to solve problems analytically as well as troubleshoot system problems.
Some experience with Microsoft Excel and Office tools is required as well as the ability to analyze data.
Excellent communication, people and program management skills are required due to the cross-organizational and functional nature of the job.
Experience in ECO/ECR analysis and tracking preferred Project management experience and use of associated software tools desirable.
Possesses a solid understanding of specialization area plus working knowledge of one other related area.
Resolves issues in creative ways.
Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions.
Execute projects from start to completion.
Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
Receives little instructions on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments and projects.
Determines and develops recommendations to solutions.
Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
Works on team-driven or task-oriented projects.
May guide more junior peers with aspects of their job.
Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
Background in software industry preferred.
Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business (MIS preferred) or Engineering.
