Title: Systems Admin
Location: San Jose, CA
Contract: 6+months (reviewed quarterly)
The main focus of this position will be working on building testbeds with a base configuration, utilizing lab tools such as ticket/case system and an asset management system. Additional responsibilities include general lab operations tasks such as shipping receiving, RMAs and general lab upkeep. Successful candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high degree of analytical and investigative skills. This is an hourly temp position with Cisco.
Responsibilities:
* Possess excellent organization skills to project manage your own assigned projects
* Build testbeds requested with base configuration
* Maintain ticket /case system to track correspondence
* Maintain asset management database to track hardware inventory
* Provide telephone and email support
* Work collaboratively with other lab engineers to solve complex issues
* Shipping and receiving of equipment
* Track / document items for RMA
* Generate and review wiki knowledgeable articles Requirements
* 2 years of professional work experience
* Cisco Certification (CCNA level or IOS XR Specialist Certification) preferred - unless you can demonstrate that you have enough networking work experience that makes this a moot point
* Experience with IOS XR is preferred * Excellent troubleshooting skills
* Knowledge/understanding of Linux and tools preferred
* Must be a self starter and highly motivated to get things done proactively
* Able to keep up in a dynamic fast-paced environment
* High level of accuracy
* Team player
* Must be able to work 40 hours/week
* Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
* Must be somewhat knowledgable about using tools - you will be doing racking and stacking so you need to be comfortable using hand tools and rack lifts * Must have work authorization that permits you to work in the US.
