[KITlist-Tech] Linux Kernel Engineer (Networking) (Thousand Oaks, CA)

OTM seeking a Linux Kernel Engineer for long term opportunity. Pay rate $75-90/hour DOE.

The Linux Kernel Engineer is responsible for updating revisions of the kernel while incorporating prior custom modifications and move complex driver modules from kernel to user space. Modifying the kernel to achieve maximum performance is an ongoing requirement.

Responsibilities:
•Working on the core team that develops the Client's Operating System
•Conducting architectural analysis and design
•Developing new features and functions
•Troubleshooting and resolving issues
•Updating the Linux kernel environment such as toolchains and kernel internals

Requirements:
•BS in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
•Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals, especially network stack, modules, and debugging
•OS development – device drivers, input/output controls and pipes and user space apps including kernel interfaces
•Knowledge of Multi-CPU, multithreaded architectures and real time systems
•Strong C/C++ development skills
•Experience cross compiling Linux Kernel for multiple platforms
•Knowledge of netfilters, iptables, ebtables
•Experience in moving drivers from kernel to user space

Preferred:
•Experience with L2/L3 networking protocols
•Solid knowledge of CPU architecture and IO subsystem such as PCI/PCIe
•Experience with Cavium Octeon I-III CPUs
•Previous experience developing software for embedded networking products
•Familiarity with SCM (git), scripting languages and build tools (Bash, Perl, GNU Make)
•Previous experience with 802.11 wireless development
