[KITlist-Tech] Sr. Embedded S/W Engineer (Broadcom) (Thousand Oaks, CA)

OTM is seeking a Sr. S/W Development Engineer who will be responsible for the development of array product software for all client company embedded platforms. Pay rate negotiable DOE. Contract to hire opportunities available.

The Engineer should have a wide range of experience and related knowledge in areas that encompass Enterprise Wireless, switching and routing features (L2 and above), functions and operating systems. Experience should include development for both wired and wireless products. They should have extensive knowledge and experience with programming in a Linux O/S environment.

The candidate must have knowledge of the Broadcom Access Point software stack which controls BRCM 4346x 802.11ac chipset. Implementation/integration into the array using 802.11ac Wave-2 is the goal.

Responsibilities:
•Participate as an active software development engineer in the software team
•Responsible for defining the implementation of sustaining/features on the Array OS (AOS)
•Responsible for development of WIFI standards to support specific features on the Company's Array

Requirements:
•BS in Computer Science or related
•5+ years of experience
•Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals, especially network stack, modules, and debugging
•Experience with WiFi protocols, specifically 802.11
•Strong experience with L2/L3 protocols
•OS development – device drivers, input/output controls and pipes and user space apps including kernel interfaces
•Knowledge of Multi-CPU, multithreaded architectures and real time systems
•Strong C/C++ development skills
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Previous experience developing software for embedded networking products
•Previous experience using Broadcom 802.11 Access Point software stack controlling 11ac family of chips (eg. 4346x).

Preferred:
•Experience cross compiling Linux Kernel for multiple platforms
•Solid knowledge of CPU architecture and IO subsystem such as PCI/PCIe
•Experience with Cavium Octeon CPU
•Familiarity with SCM (git)
