Our client is a private, well-funded company located in Gurgaon, India, (near Delhi). Their niche is online travel arrangements, a one-stop shop for every travel need. They provide information, pricing, availability and booking facility for air travel, hotels, buses and car rentals services across the globe.

This position is one of the most critical functions within the organization as it would be responsible for over 80% of the company's current revenue that accrues thru the online channel and also be responsible for managing one of the largest spends of the organization – online marketing.

This role would be responsible for sales of all travel products, including but not limited to domestic airline tickets, international airline tickets, domestic holidays and hotels and international holidays and hotels which are sold online.

***THIS POSITION REQUIRES RELOCATION TO GURGAON, INDIA, (near Delhi).

Specific Duties include:

Owning the online sales target for these products (current year target - $ 300 million),
Managing the overall online marketing spend of $5mil and working closely with the technology team to improve the user interface of the website to further enhance sales and improve return on the marketing spends.
This role will also interface closely with each of the product teams in terms of determining the online strategy for each of the products keeping in mind consumer trends and competitive environment.

Required Skills:
Ideal candidate should have 15+ yrs of experience and should have an MBA from a reputed school. Some online experience is a must and a stint in a product marketing role within an FMCG environment would be an advantage. The person should be a strategic thinker and a hands–on implementer, with proven track record of building business by leveraging technology. A proven background in building the business will be preferred.

Ability to build alliances and partnerships.
Strong relationship and influencing skills. The individual will need to actively deal with a mix of internal and external stakeholders i.e. partners, vendors. He/she should have the maturity and the confidence to take independent decisions, roll up the sleeves and deliver results.
An inspirational leader who can develop and motivate the team.
Good strategic thinking skills--should be looking at levering technologies in building the business.
Strong commercial acumen--should drive effective supplier performance.
Very consumer centric--should have the pulse of the market as to what would sell or appeal to the target audience.
A strong process mindset, with a drive towards streamlining and driving efficiency, process improvements and productivity.
