[KITlist-Tech] CONTR: Linux Operations Engineer (Virtualization, Web/ App Servers) (Silicon Valley, Ca)

Unix (Linux) Operations Engineer needed for long term project at client company.
Good / Stable / Public company (Fortune 50) and project.

Local Experience and Local Candidates are preferred.

*Must Have Strong Linux Admin Skills with some Virtualization experience*

Responsibilities:

-Application Production Support / Operation Engineer in the area of Networking, Web/Application Servers (Tomcat/Apache), Unix/Linux OS, Unix Shell, Perl
- Must have good analytical skills to debug deployment problems without taking help from developers
- Execute tasks related to application deployment and release engineering in accordance to the established process under the guidance of Release Project Managers
- Implement automated procedures for deployment, configuration, startup, and shutdown procedures of services, tools, application / web servers
- Administer, monitor and manage large-scale production environment for web applications systems
- Must have experience in executing above mentioned activities in a complex environment involving multiple servers/services/applications/ tools
- Flexible and able to participate 24X7 on-call production support rotation (L2/L3 Support)
- Technical knowledge in Unix OS and Shell, Perl or Python Scripting, knowledge in Oracle SQL deployed database systems.
- Knowledge of Java, Virtualization will be an added advantage
- Should have working knowledge of applications developed using SOA
- Should have basic knowledge of a deployment environment involving load balancer, Firewalls, webservers (apache), application servers, databases, routers/switches
- Possess ability to understand core JVM parameters and take thread dumps and core dumps and analyze the logs
- Work with engineering and release management to document, enhance, and improve on application operational procedures and processes
