Department Overview
The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) product suite is key to Symantec's vision of information-centric security. The Symantec DLP solution discovers, monitors and protects confidential data to help organizations ensure public confidence, demonstrate compliance and maintain competitive advantage. Symantec DLP customers include many of the world´s largest enterprises and government agencies. The Symantec DLP Engineering team is headquartered in downtown San Francisco, within easy walking distance from BART and CalTrain.
Responsibilities
• Work with developers, QA, Product Management, Support, and other groups to analyze and develop Symantec DLP product documentation
• Create content for multiple audiences (user, administrator) for both online help and PDF manuals
• Coordinate efforts with other information developers to integrate and synthesize information for the DLP product documentation suite
• Juggle multiple deliverables and projects
• Represent the Information Development team at cross-functional team meetings
• Be a user advocate during the product development lifecycle
• Test deliverables with customers and internal staff and incorporate feedback
Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience documenting enterprise or security software
• Three to seven years (3-7 yrs) technical documentation experience
• Familiarity with topic-oriented writing
• Familiarity with content management systems
• Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects
