Java Web Services Engineer
A2Z Development Center is looking for a talented software developer to join us in revolutionizing the digital music customer experience. The MP3 store for which we develop software is available on a number of websites and platforms worldwide. The software we develop is also available on the Android platform as well as other mobile platforms, and on phones from T-Mobile, Palm, Motorola, HTC, Samsung, etc. This MP3 store is also accessible through our partners: YouTube, Pandora, Last.fm, MySpace, etc.
A2Z Development Center Inc. is a subsidiary of Amazon.com Inc. and is located in the heart of the financial district in San Francisco, California. A2Z Development Center, Inc. also develops software for the MP3 store on www.amazon.com.
Position Overview:
• You will be responsible for the design and implementation of software used by millions of users.
• You will be developing a large scale web service in Java.
• You will be integrating with world-class service-oriented infrastructures.
• You will be interacting and cooperating with other developers at A2Z Development Center and affiliated companies.
• You are eager to embrace new technologies and expand your skill set.
• You understand how to optimize your code and write code that performs well.
• You understand the challenges of developing and scaling large distributed systems.
• You are passionate about creating great consumer applications.
• You will help build the best digital music customer experience!
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor´s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building web services
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master´s Degree in Computer Science.
• Experience with Java, Apache, services over HTTP
• A firm understanding of software development principles.
• A proven ability to learn and adapt to new, complex development environments.
• Superb analytical skills, excellent communication, strong team ethic, and attention to details - be meticulous!
