[KITlist-Tech] CONTR: Globalization Project Manager (Silicon Valley, CA)

OTM Software Professionals seeking a Globalization Project Manager, responsible for coordinating efficient, high quality translation and localization for products, (user interface, online help and documentation), for Fortune 500 Client Company. Pay rate negotiable DOE.

Responsibilities:
The Globalization Project Manager will:
• Coordinate translation through internal and external resources.
• Develop and maintain terminology glossaries.
• Develop and maintain a long-term localization schedule for product releases.
• Maintain translation vendors and manage relationships with them.
• Define, implement, and maintain a best-of-class process that will assist with the localization of new products, and product updates.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product Management and Product Marketing (US and in-country), to identify and prioritize materials for localization and ensure localization efforts are successful.
• Manage vendors, track budgets, and establish, track and analyze production quality.


Requirements:
• Bachelor´s degree or foreign language equivalent in English, translation and/or a relevant technical field.
• Fluency in English as well as one of the following languages: Simplified or Traditional Chinese, Iberian Spanish, German, French, Italian, Korean.
• Software or technical publications project management experience.
• 5 - 7 years project management experience working in Localization industry preferred.
• Track record of managing multipart projects involving outside resources and meeting deadlines.
• Experience in delivering globalization solutions desired.
• Experience with vendor management, establishing budgets and tracking expenditures.
• Excellent verbal / written communication and analytical skills and the ability to work well within a diverse, geographically distributed, multicultural environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Familiarity with HTML and desktop publishing.
• Familiarity with industry standard Translation Tools (Trados, Passolo)
• Must be able to take responsibility for completion of a project with multiple parts and work collegially with other employees to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience as a localization engineer or localization QA engineer is highly desired engineer is highly desired.
