Job Title: Sr. Technical Support Analyst NA13-50
Job Description:
eGain's Technical Support staff provide exceptional technical support to software professionals implementing and administering eGain applications, and contribute to continuous product and service improvement through product and documentation review, process improvement and internal systems design, configuration and implementation.
Responsibilities:
• Provide telephone and email support to customers responding to a variety of customer requests as it pertains to eGain's suite of enterprise software applications
• Communicate effectively with customers of varying levels of technical expertise
• Work with other members within Technical Support to research and resolve customer problems
• Contribute to product development with feedback on customer issues to Product Engineering
• Work on specific project assignments, including such things as process/ tools improvement, maintenance of the Technical Support website, development of technical documents, etc
Requirements:
• Strong customer service skills and an eagerness to excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
• Effective organizational skills
• A four year degree with computer technologies and six to eight years experience or an MS with computer technologies and four to six years experience with computer software applications
• Experience or understanding of Windows operating systems (Linux a plus)
• Experience or understanding of Internet Explorer (Firefox or Tomcat a plus)
Criteria:
• Working knowledge of Mail server protocols IMAP, POP3
• Working knowledge of relational databases (DB2, Oracle, Sybase, Informix, MS SQL Server)
• Working knowledge of operating systems (Windows 2003, Windows 2008, Windows XP, Window7, UNIX, Linux)
• Experience in supporting client/server and J2EE applications (Java, XML, JScript, C)
• Experience with browser technologies (products, plug-ins) on different platforms
• Hands on experience with HTML, Java-Script
• Web server knowledge or experience (MS-IIS, Weblogic, Websphere)
• Knowledge of networking technology
