Nominum Senior Product Manager, Analytics/Applications

Location: Redwood City, CA

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a Product Management professional with a strong track record building analytics products and packaged applications for business and Marketing users within Communication Service Providers. The individual must be familiar with the business issues facing Fixed and Mobile CSP�s and the requirements of Marketing professionals within this market.

As the �CEO of their product�, the Senior Product Manager is ultimately accountable for the market success of Nominum�s Analytics offerings. The candidate should be able to gain a deep understanding of customer issues, develop thorough and well thought out business cases, define product requirements, articulate the key selling points of the products and work closely with Business Development to deliver complete solutions with technology partners as necessary. These products must be highly relevant for the target market and meet important and identifiable needs for the majority of our customers.

The Senior Product Manager should possess a broad and deep understanding of the CSP market and must have a strong business sense while being able to clearly articulate customer requirements in MRDs and PRDs. In particular, they must be able to identify and prioritize the most important issues facing the customer and define products that leverage Nominum�s unique strengths to meet those requirements.

This person will work closely with field personnel both on the Sales and technical (SE) side as well as internal resources including Engineering and Operations and must be able to convince internal employees and customers about the need for our products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own the definition of analytics requirements
Help define product vision and roadmap for Nominum�s N2 applications
Identify the strengths and weaknesses of these technologies and where Nominum is uniquely able to meet customer requirements
Analyze and support partnerships with 3rd Party products and solutions
Work with customers, partners, internal field personnel and prospects to develop product requirements
Work with engineers and partners to clearly articulate product requirements
Write Requests for Enhancement (RFEs), Market/Product Requirements Docs (MRD/PRD) and other supporting materials for product enhancement
Work with Sales Directors and Systems Engineers to obtain information to answer Engineering questions
Work with documentation and Marketing teams to create and review the creation of data sheets, printed manuals, and other training materials
Educate and train internal and external groups on product positioning and key selling strategies
Review and assist with selected RFI and RFP responses
Support the field and Product Marketing in overcoming customer objections.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of strong contribution to customer-driven product management across the product lifecycle
5+ years of experience defining packaged applications
Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking
Familiarity with the online advertising and mobile advertising ecosystems
Familiarity with Analytics and �Big Data� technologies (e.g. Hadoop NoSQL databases) a plus
Experience defining requirements for web-based applications and platforms
Outstanding organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear written and oral communication skills
BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field (MS/MBA a strong plus)
SKILLS:

Strong business sense and ability to identify and articulate key reasons customers buy
Ability to organize, plan and lead projects from conception to completion
Excellent customer-facing skills
Experience with or familiarity with Agile development processes a plus
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills and the ability to interact effectively with peers, internal/external clients and prospective clients
Detail-oriented person who focuses on accuracy and thoroughness
Fluent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a business environment
Must be willing to travel 20-30% of the time
