Senior Software Developer
Remote work position
Bay Area: San Francisco , California
Channel Impact is seeking a Linux Developer for a long term contract assignment with a large organization in the bay area.
The engineer needs to have extensive coding experience in C/C++, and Python.
Linux kernel and Hadoop experience is highly desirable since this project will require:
Port the CDG source (see doc) from FreeBSD to Linux and compile it into both TCP SCTP. (SCTP not in base Linux distro, so will need a little work there.)
Extend Hadoop Thrift to provide SCTP access.
Do some experimentation testing with MapReduce in a virtual environment and with real hardware
Must be an accountable, independent worker with the ability to work remotely from his/her supervisor.
Strongly preferred that the consultant be fluent in Japanese.
