[KITlist-Tech] From Sue: A great survey for those who consult or contract

Hello Everyone,

Many of you participated in the WIC Annual Consulting Best Practices Survey last year.

WIC is now conducting their 13th

Annual Survey (which closes 8/14).

Those who participate will receive the results, which are extremely helpful in knowing about to best run your consulting practice. For those who are contracting until you secure permanent jobs, you will get important insights based on what others share.

Since my "real job" is as a marketing consultant, I've been a longtime member of Women in Consulting (WIC), which is an outstanding professional organization (and not limited to women, men are welcome!)

I have participated in this survey many times and have found that it provides great insights into the latest consulting trends, and has helped me benchmark my consulting practices against those of top consultants nationwide.

I'm sharing information about this survey to make sure that any of you who are consultants can participate.

If you take the survey, you'll receive the results and will also beentered into a drawing for an upcoming WIC workshop or one of four webinar passes.

The survey closes on August 14, 2014.

The survey takes 10 – 15 minutes to complete.
• All participants who complete the survey receive the results and are entered into a drawing to win one of five prizes (whether or not they're WIC members): a seat in any future WIC workshop (1 winner) or a seat in a future WIC webinar (4 winners).

Contact WIC (www.womeninconsulting.org) if you have any questions or encounter any problems.

All information collected during the survey is confidential.

The survey asks some detailed questions about your business for the July 2013 – June 2014 timeframe, so be prepared with the following information:
- Total revenue for the past 12 months
- Total amount paid to subcontractors, other resources, and/or employees
- Total profit for the past 12 months (net revenue: revenue minus all expenses)
- Average hourly rate (if applicable)
- Average retainer fee (if applicable)
- Average project fee (if applicable)
- Target hourly rate in project fees (if applicable)
- Number of subcontractors/other project resources used (including admins, web designers, etc.)

You will get excellent information through the survey results by participating!

Please forward this email to other consultants…the more the merrier!

Warmly,

Sue
