deCarta is changing the game in Location-Based Services (LBS) and mobile local search by democratizing the ecosystem of operating systems, ad networks, mapping content, and branding. Not everyone wants to hitch their wagon solely to Apple, Google, or Microsoft and that's where deCarta comes in. We let our customers control their own brand, their customer, their content, and their business model.
We have an immediate need for an enthusiastic and dedicated team player to join our IT Support Staff. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and will play an integral role in the success of our daily operations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Provide first-line support to end-users on all IT related matters
• Thoroughly research technical issues and document solutions for user problems in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot operating system and hardware issues
• Support remote access applications
• Set up and maintain office equipment such as fax machines, printers and phones
• Clean up legacy systems and environment and maintain a clutter free IT environment
• Create and maintain user and company documentation
• Maintain a highly competent knowledge of relevant products, help to develop support policies, and methods of support delivery
• Provide end user training
• As always, there will be other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills and Expertise:
• Knowledge of Windows XP, Vista and 7; Server 2003
• Knowledge of Linux (Redhat / CentOS / Fedora / Ubuntu)
• Knowledge of laptop and PC server hardware
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Desired Skills and Expertise:
• Knowledge of Active Directory admin
• Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and BES admin
• Understanding MySQL and Apache
• Understanding scripting languages such as Perl, PHP or Python
• Knowledge of Server Virtualization using VMWare and Firewalls
Position Requirements:
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with peers, vendors and members of management and both skilled and unskilled users.
• Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Exceptional customer service skills
• The ability to occasionally lift 30 pounds
• Regular travel to local CoLo facility required, so reliable transportation is required
Education and Experience:
We require 2 – 5 years IT experience, preferably including companies of 75 – 100 employees. A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent training is a plus.
