All products support today's precise timing standards, including GPS-based timing, IEEE 1588 (PTP), Network Time Protocol (NTP), Synchronous Ethernet and DOCSIS® timing.

The Tech Support Engineer will be based in Delhi and report directly to the Technical Support Manager based in San Jose, California.

Responsibilities for this position include the following:

- This customer facing individual contributor role is focused on pre sales and post sales technical engagement
- Providing front line technical and applications support for our customers and sales representatives in the region.
- Preparing and presenting technical presentations (including product demonstrations) that reflect customer requirements and emphasize scalable features of Symmetricom equipment.
- Troubleshooting customer/network technical issue and suggest solution.
- Performing product trials, network audits, installation and commissioning of telecom network from synchronization perspective.
- Working as the technical lead for developing Synchronization bids in coordination with Engineering and Product Management in US.
- Preparing customer all application specific Customer Acceptance Tests, Application Notes
- Providing application-specific technical support for Symmetricom customers in the region.
- Developing technical competence on all Symmetricom products.
- Presenting seminars and workshops for the Symmetricom sales team, partners and customers
- Providing support and working as an advocate for the region to achieve and exceed sales goals for the region and division
- Documenting and entering all time and support functions within the Oracle CRM service ticket module.
- Project Management skills – ability to project manage installs from quote phase to implementation and closing.
- Ability to perform Symmetricom equipment installs and commissioning.
- Potential of 50% travel through the India and Asia region with also 2 trips to the United States

Essential qualifications for this position include:

- B.Tech degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from university/ institute of repute
- At least two years Project Managing technical equipment installs.
- PM certification desirable but not required.
- A minimum of 7 years experience in Application Engineering and/or Technical Sales
- Specific experience in the area of Synchronization and Telecommunications networks (SDH, PDH, ATM, Carrier Ethernet, Wireless, SSU)
- Computer skills with Microsoft Suite- Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; clarity and timeliness
