Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Position: Architect
Responsibilities:
• Work with product management and other key stakeholders in developing requirements and design specifications.
• Hands on design, development and documentation of software products designed for robustness, scalability, testability and serviceability.
• Refactor and re-architect the existing products.
• Evaluate, recommend, and drive adoption and integration of appropriate technologies and best practices to enable rapid prototyping and development of products. Recommend build versus buy decisions based on business drivers.
• Develop proof-of-concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions.
• Collaborate with other technical leaders around the company to establish company-wide guidelines, best practices, and development paradigms.
• Coach, guide, and oversee engineers on various projects. Review design and code for adherence to guidelines with written comments for improvements.
Requirements:
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related fields
• 10+ years of experience in product development.
• 5+ years of experience in design and development of large distributed enterprise applications (scalable, reliable, available, distributed)
• Proven experience in leading architecture of highly reliable and scalable distributed products.
• Experience with server-side architectures and application development frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Java/J2EE, REST, Service Oriented Architecture, High Speed Messaging JMS, AMPQ.
o Experience with Business rules and Workflow Engines is a plus
• Experience with web technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX.
• Good knowledge of database concepts and databases such as MSSQL and Oracle
• Ability to develop quick proof of concepts and prototypes
• Ability to work on multiple projects and be able to change direction quickly based on business drivers
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation skills.
• Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with local and remote team members.
• Must have experience in working with remote teams.
