Job Description:
CNC/R&D Prototype Machinist The job involves working directly with R&D Engineers as part of the engineering process and contributing to the development and prototyping of high precision products. You will work with engineers to understand requirements and estimate time required for prototype completion. You will work with 3D CAD models and CAM tools to produce high precision and high quality machined prototypes. You will also work with CNC Mill and Lathes. The successful person for this job will have high machining skills, desire to learn new processes and be very committed to customer satisfaction as part of a self-directed workgroup.
Job Qualifications:
10+ years of CNC/R&D Prototype Machining Experience - Experience working closely with and giving manufacturability feedback to R&D Engineers - Sufficient knowledge of materials (steels, aluminums and plastics) so that recommendations can be made as to the best choices for various projects - Knowledge of various tool steels and their heat-treatment (Optional) - CAM Experience (preferably MasterCam X) - 3D and 2D CAD Experience (preferably CoCreate Modeling) - Proficient programming and set-up skills on CNC Mills and Lathes - Proficient skills setting-up and the running of conventional Mills and Lathes, Grinders, Saws, and bench tools associated with precision machining - Tool Design / Building Experience - Surface Grinding Experience - Ability to inspect and verify that parts have been made to specification - Sheet Metal Experience (Optional) - Welding Experience (Optional)
