Nikon Precision is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our team. This position will be responsible for a full-range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence for the Service organization. The Business Analyst will be the Subject Matter Expert for defining processes, data requirements, and reporting Field Service application(s) and will be the pivotal point of contact for IT and end users. The Analyst´s role is to gather inputs, analyze, specify and validate the business requirements of stakeholders and end users of the systems. This includes interviewing stakeholders to understand and compile requirements and ensuring that deliverables are met according to specifications. The Business Analyst will track and analyze by delivering reports for business unit operational andd tool performance trends as well as make appropriate recommendations that positively impact operational effectiveness.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

Business Analysis and Reporting

•Works closely with stakeholders (Field Service personnel, Materials Control, Management, other subsidiaries) to identify opportunities for improving Field Service business processes
•Consults with stakeholders to determine and prioritize business, functional, and technical requirements for packaged applications
•Reviews, analyzes, and creates detailed documentation of business system and user needs, including workflow and field functions for developing computer applications
•Reviews user cases and other technical documents with IT to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in technical planning documents
•Develops effective reports for use by various stakeholders and management (Quality, Customer Service, Operational Efficiency, Equipment metrics, etc)
•Analyzes the business unit´s activities and trends and compares analyses against service standards and best practices. Presents findings and works with management and other personnel to identify and implement strategies that will address tactical and strategic goals
•Travel as required to gather information from user communities

Testing

•Defines, develops and implements testing practices and procedures according to SDLC standards agreed upon with IT
•Ensures that all tests are conducted and documented to meet project timelines
•Responsible for ensuring that all documentation accruately reflects the current status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and function
•Responsible for the overall success of testing, including results verification and release sign-off
•Provides resource planning, management, and resolution of issues that impede the test effort
•Coordinates user acceptance testing (UAT) with groups of business personnel who test, evaluate and validate new functions and applications, and identify issues in software or services
•Ensures continuing operational quality by documenting bug fixes and enhancements
•Designs, develops and delivers training and development initiatives to continuously upgrade the skills and capabilities of end users

Functional/Technical Skills

•Proven business analysis and leadership skills, including the ability to gather clear business requirements, provide excellent customer support and recommend/influence change(s)
•Proven ability to develop, document and maintain operational policies and procedures, including the design and documentation of detailed process flows
•Succesful experience working within Excel and developing and maintaining various analyses and reporting tools
•Strong knowledge of testing methodologies
•Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (programming languages a plus)
•Working technical knowledge of databases
•Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visio
•Working knowledge of Project Management
•Strong math and analytic probelm-solving abilities

Requirements

•5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst
•Experience in a field service environment as a functional owner preferred
•2+ years developing and executing test plans and test cases
•3+ years of experience designing and writing SQL-based queries and reports
•Exposure (through project participation) to software development life cycle (SDLC) and iterative software development methodology
•Successful experience working collaboratively with IT projects of long duration (8+ months)
•Bachelor´s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Operations, a related field or equivalent technical degree
