The VxWorks platforms integrate critical technologies from the broadest partner ecosystem with vertical market middleware and connectivity capabilities, giving designers the flexibility and portability to choose the technology mix that best meets their device requirements.
Wind River, an Intel company, is looking for a Sr. Product Manager to provide leadership for the VxWorks platform business and technologies. Reporting to the Director of VxWorks Product Management, this exciting position is a key role responsible for driving the strategy, planning, and delivery of VxWorks, the industry leading, and world´s most successful and widely adopted, commercial real-time operating system.
This position requires proven skills defining and delivering successful technology products, experience with real-time operating systems across hardware architectures, and strong oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Capture, prioritize and document customer and market requirements, and translate this understanding into strategies, roadmaps, and product requirements for delivery by development teams
• Develop business cases, Market Requirements Documents, Product Requirement Documents, and Use Cases
• Collaborate with Wind River development and operations teams to deliver required products
• Support the creation of white papers, articles, and sales tools
• Market the capabilities and solutions through close collaboration with Wind River Product, Industry and Corporate Marketing
• Support Wind River's sales activities by working closely with Wind River's direct and indirect sales channels, field engineering, and customer support
• Develop a whole product offering by working with value-add partners and partner ecosystem
Job Requirements:
• A proven record of success in managing and delivering software technology products, including a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
• 5+ years of experience in a product management or development capacity
• 5+ years of experience in networking, storage or related industry
• Excellent technical understanding of: file systems; connectivity; middleware; etc. technologies.
• Experience with real-time embedded technologies with knowledge of processor architectures and peripheral hardware
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for a wide range of audiences including engineering, technical, business, and executive
• Excellent teamwork skills, with proven ability to work across functional areas in the organization
• Ability to multi-task and follow-through on multiple projects and programs
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic technology environment
• BA/BS or equivalent in electrical engineering or computer science. MBA a plus.
