[KITlist-Tech] Senior Software Engineer, Web Front End Development (Pleasanton, CA )

Navman Wireless North America is one of the largest global providers of award-winning SaaS based vehicle tracking and mobile data solutions for commercial fleet management. We are looking for a strong Senior Software Engineer in Web Development who can help us transform the current our current Desktop client products to next generation web front ends. This person will be an individual contributor who will be reporting to the Software Development Manager. The Senior Software Engineer is expected to work closely with development managers, engineering managers, other senior engineers and QA team as part of the normal work. The person should help us build an enterprise class, high performance, highly scalable industry leading fleet tracking system.

Job Responsibilities:

•Working closely with engineering managers, senior engineers and product managers, come up with the right architecture and design specifications for new products and initiatives.
•Design and implement key technology parts and make them available to other developers as framework or components.
•Prototype and recommend new technologies, approaches, and product features.
•Actively participate in release planning, do design reviews, code reviews and follow the development process.
•Help develop coding practices, and standards.
•Work with geographically distributed development teams.
•Be proactive, opinionated and pragmatic, and yet a team player.

Qualifications:

•5+ years of software development experience in Web front end technologies – HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, JSON
•Strong understanding of Usability/scalability/performance aspects
•Experience with web frameworks/libraries such as jQuery, YUI, and ExtJS


Desired Skills:

•HTML5 + CSS3, and ASP.NET MVC
•2+ years of experience with UI & UX designs
•Experience with Visual Studio toolset & TFS
•Experience with Javascript unit testing
•Experience with Web applications development targeting tablet and phone form factors.
•Exposure to SCRUM/Agile development process.
•Ability to appreciate and critique current designs, and work with other senior level engineers

Education/ Experience:
•BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent and 8+ years of industry experience.
