Position: Oracle Retail Retek Programmer Analyst
Duration: 6 months contract to hire
Location: San Francisco, CA

Key Skill Sets: Retek/Oracle merchandising systems, RETEK/Oracle retail applications integration with other systems, Inventory Control, Planning and Allocation, Middleware, ETL (specifically RETL) and any Scheduling software.
• The Senior Programmer Analyst will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the applications software development life cycle. This includes business analysis, system configuration, design, technical code review, testing and support; all while adhering to the SDLC methodology and PCI development standards at client.
• Will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement and ways to reduce costs and inefficiencies. Must plan and manage their work load, commitments and schedules.
• Must act as the interface between business partners & IT, ensuring that business needs are translated into appropriate technology solutions.
• Must be able to provide detailed technical assessments and plans for resolution of complex issues.
• Partner and collaborate with team members in all aspects of the implementation lifecycle, project planning and technical design.
• Will be expected to maintain awareness of significant trends in software and hardware technology and methods, while adapting best practices to drive continuous improvement.
• This person should desire to learn quickly, make an immediate impact and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be willing to support business tasks and work with offshore partners after hours
Job Requirements:
• Must have a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience, including specific experience supporting and developing Retek/Oracle merchandising systems, RETEK/Oracle retail applications integration with other systems, Middleware (specifically RIB, seebeyond), ETL (specifically RETL) and Scheduling software (specifically AppWorx).
• Must have experience in Inventory Control, Planning and Allocation.
• Must have a strong track record of partnering and collaborating with development teams.
• Must have extensive experience with technologies like pl/sql, unix and ksh.
• Additional experience in a variety of platforms including Linux and Windows with open source components is highly desirable.
• Must have the ability to form effective partnerships within IT as well as cross functionally.
• Must have demonstrated development skills with a robust understanding of Oracle retail applications database/query tuning in a retail domain.
• Must have a strong understanding of modular code concepts and life cycle development within the retail domain.
• Excellent communication and presentational skills
