[KITlist-Tech] Product Engineer (Frontend) – Backbone or Angular or Knockout (Palo Alto, CA)

We are looking for a frontend product engineers to handle our growing Backbone.js-based frontend. Good frontend product engineers are experts in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including JavaScript internals. Frontend product engineers communicate with product and engineering teams to turn product ideas into reality for our users.
HOW YOU´D WORK
Our Client culture is fast-paced, dynamic, and passionate. We love our work, and we´re often here at weird hours or weekends. Everyone comes in at around 10-11, and we work until we get what we need to done. Every now and then, we´ll duck out for a meeting at Rudy´s Pub (which is directly below our office).
As a frontend product engineer, you work extremely closely with the product design team, contributing to features as well as implementing them on the frontend. Our frontend code is completely separated from the backend in an API client-server model, so you´ll work with backend engineers to implement features as well.
SAMPLE THINGS YOU´D DO:
• Build a scalable chat client for an XMPP-based chat system
• Implement an entirely new user interface for the feed, complete with multivariate testing and other analytical capabilities
• Find new ways to optimize the speed of the site, profiling and optimizing Backplane´s JavaScript
REQUIREMENTS
• Strong computer science fundamentals; BA/BS in Computer Science preferred
• Expert-level HTML5, CSS3, jQuery/JavaScript; experience with Backbone.js
• Extensive programming experience in one or more of the following: C++, Java, Python, PHP or similar language (we use PHP 5.x in production)
• Experience with common interfaces to other sites, such as Facebook Open Graph, OAUTH, et cetera
