My client is a company that is building an emerging storage technology. They are bringing in a ton of new customers and are growing their QA group. This role is primarily built around testing their web interface. They critical needs are strong scripting (Python or Perl) and database/SQL experience.
Sr. QA Engineer
Primary job responsibility will be ensuring the functionality, usability, and stability of our products' management interfaces. Main focus of testing will be on the web based graphical user interface applications. These applications are based on managing and reporting statics in a SAN environment. The SQA engineer will not only interface with the application but also with the supported hardware and various components of the SAN environment (servers, FC switches, and storage arrays). Test tasks include scripting to automate test cases for regression and writing SQL queries to verify integrity of data presented in the GUI versus what is loaded in the database. The SQA engineer will work closely with software development to compose test plans, test cases, report issues, and help with debugging efforts.
Job Requirements:
At least 5 yrs experience in SQA testing web based applications.
Competence with writing SQL queries to verify loaded or displayed data.
Experience writing Python and/or Perl scripts to validate HTTP web service calls.
Comfortable using Firebug in Firefox to monitor and identify JavaScript problems.
Basic knowledge of HTTP, HTML, & JavaScript.
Linux system administrative skills to configure users, groups, file systems, disk partitioning, init.d scripts, etc.
Familiarity with Apache web server operation and configuration.
Basic understanding of measuring and tuning performance of SCSI IO.
Strong communication skills, written and oral.
Desired Experience:
Knowledgeable of how to configure, troubleshoot and maintain a SAN.
This includes experience working with various storage arrays, FC switches, servers (Linux/Windows) and HBAs.
Experience with Postgresql, CSS, Abode Flash, Veritas volume management, and VMware is a plus.
