About the Position
The Database Solutions Architect will lead the design and deployment of a web-integrated database system based on Salesforce. The role is responsible for evaluating our organizational requirements and designing complete solutions leveraging Salesforce, Apps, and ancillary web tools that help us deliver high quality services to our customers.
The Database Solutions Architect will manage an external Salesforce consulting team to develop an effective solution that meets our budget and timeline. The Solutions Architect role requires experience across a range of different focus areas. Ideally the candidate will have experience in both infrastructure and software development arenas.
The Database Solutions Architect will also manage an external vendor in the development of Java-based tracking system for our GreenPoint Rated Existing Home projects.
Responsibilities
· Manage outsourced implementation partners to define scope, design, planning, build-out, and testing of systems.
· Develop a data migration plan from current data sources to new system, and oversee execution
· Develop and manage timelines, budgets, and internal staff to meet deliverables.
· Gather, analyze, and summarize business and user needs, documenting requirementsand process flows.
· Coordinate with staff and consulting team to determine requirements of new, custom applications in order to realize the full capabilities of Salesforce.com.
· Creating and managing complex workflow rules, data validation, and system triggers.
· Write technical approach and design documentation supporting business needs.
· Evaluate App Exchange tools for feasibility and impact to the business, such as email marketing and event management tools.
· Evaluate non-Salesforce CMS, events registration, directories, and marketing communications tools and ensure seamless integration with Salesforce.
· Develop training plans, materials, and documentation for database users and coordinate training sessions
· Manage multiple user set up, profiles, roles, and teams.
· Train users in conversion and implementation of system.
· Assist users with report design and management
· Work with management to identify new and creative opportunities to leverage the database to support additional business processes or functions
· Manage ongoing relationship with Salesforce.com and the Salesforce.com Foundation
· Other responsibilities as defined
Qualifications:
· 3 – 5 years in database design or development
· 2+ years working in a Salesforce environment. Administrator certification preferred.
· 2+ years managing projects and vendors
· Understanding of database integration scenarios and design
· Experience with SFDC administration and implementation
· Familiarity with Java
· Proficient in data manipulation (Excel, Access, FileMaker Pro)
· Knowledge of website database integration
· Strong documentation and training skills
· Excellent project management and communication skills
· Positive, results driven, rational, logical, team player.
Compensation
This is a full-time, 6-month temporary position with a salary of $40,000 - $45,000 over six months ($80k – 90k annualized), based on experience.
