Job Description:
ETW for Synthetic Biology Projects: In this role, you will be working with an inter-disciplinary team. Key responsibilities will include characterization of synthesized DNA oligonucleotides, investigation of gene assembly techniques and analysis of experimental results. The individual will be performing wet-lab work as needed and directed by the project team and communicating results to team members orally and in writing.
Job Qualifications:
Qualifications:
1. B.S./B.A. in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or equivalent with strong background in molecular biology.
2. Proficiency in specific molecular biology techniques including: gel electrophoresis (agarose & acrylamide gels), PCR, cloning, enzymatic manipulation of nucleic acids, nucleic acid extraction & clean up.
3. Excellent time management, teamwork and communication skills.
4. Excel at detail-orientated laboratory work, designing next-step experiments based on acquired data, and record keeping.
5. Demonstrated experience conducting independent experiments as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
6. 5+ years of wet-lab experience on research projects involving molecular biology techniques.
7. Computer literacy including experience with Word and Excel.
The following additional skills/experiences are highly desired:
1. Recombinant DNA experience with E. coli and/or yeast.
2. Experience with Agilent's Bioanalyzer.
3. Experience analyzing DNA sequencing output.
4. Quantitative PCR experience.
5. Experience with DNA manipulation and alignment software.
