Job Description:
System level thinker needed for an exciting opportunity to be part of creating innovative consumer electronics products to connect consumers to entertainment. If you are a senior level System Architect with experience delivering products and have a solid understanding of systems level problems with demonstrated experience, we are interested in discussing this opportunity with you.
This position works closely with multiple business unit leaders to design and develop end-to-end solutions aimed at helping consumers find, acquire, and enjoy digital media.
Responsibilities:
Define system architecture for embedded software for consumer electronics products, including interactive program guides, search and recommendations services, interactive advertising and media-sharing protocols.
Manage and coordinate other architects to collaborate on the architecture of features and products across a complex ecosystem.
Work across internal teams and with external partners to understand system needs, define and communicate end-to-end application and services architecture.
Create, document, present, and assimilate system and product specifications.
Work with product development teams to ensure solutions remain true to the architecture and satisfy operational requirements.
Work with other department leaders to understand their operational needs and strategies in an effort to optimize cross-functional collaboration.
Communicate effectively with partners and end customers to deploy consumer electronics products and services.
Some additional tasks and responsibilities will include: Requirements analysis, functional analysis and breakdown, risk and cost analysis, trade-off analysis, and engineering design reviews.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
More than 8 years of software and system development experience in a systems level company with experience in managing complex system development, working with senior managers internal and external and other functions.
MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Engineering required.
Design and development experience with embedded software development, web services, networking protocols, and application UI development.
Ability to specify and lead complex, cross-platform integrations.
Demonstrable analytical problem solving and risk management skills, particularly in systems design area. Flexible attitude and team-building skills at all levels.
Ability to influence, train, mentor and leverage the skills of others, including business partners and technical team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Available to travel as required.
Highly Desirable:
Additional experience with digital cable, satellite, broadcast or IPTV technologies and standards.
