We currently have an opening for a Sr. Embedded C++ Firmware Engineer.
Topcon Positioning Systems is seeking an embedded firmware engineer for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded real-time systems for mobile applications.
Job Functions:
Your hands on engineering responsibilities include concept generation, code generation, writing specifications, system-level testing and validation, and participating and/or leading program and design reviews. Other responsibilities may include tasks as assigned from time-to-time by TPS's Chief Technical Officer.
Basic Qualifications:
•Position requires a BS minimum in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent. A MS degree is a plus.
•Candidate must be able to work effectively, both independently and as a team member, demonstrate strong communication skills, and show creative thinking when solving problems. You will be a senior member of the R&D team, and a part of a high energy, positive and dynamic project environment.
•Other Qualifications:
The position requires excellent programming skills,
•A minimum of 5 years of previous firmware development using C/C++ on various platforms such as PC and/or PowerPC,
•Experience in real-time operation under Linux, RTLinux or equivalent.
•Familiarity with standard version control packages such as SVN, CVS, SourceSafe, etc., and scripting languages such as python, perl etc. is desired.
•Proficiency in device driver development, GPS, CAN/Ethernet/USB buses, TCP/IP, a background in Navigation, Control and algorithm development/implementation are all pluses.
