POSITION: In-House Web Developer (Temporary – Approx. 6 months)
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
POSITION LOCATION: San Rafael, CA. Working remotely is NOT an option.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Work individually or with a team of web developers to design, build, and maintain the source code for several web applications. This position will also be mentoring our content managers to get them up to speed on being able to handle some development. Some of the web applications include various marketing websites for all of our businesses, e-Commerce sites, member portals, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ability to mentor / train others around the development of web applications
• Track all software changes using a version control system
• Manage several tasks simultaneously, regularly reviewing priorities to be sure that projects are completed on time.
• Attend web design meetings; participate in discussions and brainstorming sessions.
• Translate business objectives into development requirements.
• Formulate a development plan outlining the steps required to develop the program. Submit the plan to the user for approval
• Design the graphical user interface to accomplish the goals of the user's request
• Analyze, review, and alter programs to increase their operating efficiency.
• Recreate steps taken by the user to locate the source of a problem and rewrite the source code to correct the error.
• Other duties or special projects may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Expertise in .NET and PHP programming languages/frameworks
• 3+ years' experience in design/architecture/developing web applications targeting modern mobile platforms including iOS, Android and others.
• Strong knowledge of XHTML, DHTML, XML, JSON, CSS, Ajax and JavaScript. HTML5 and CSS3 are preferred
• Experience with jQuery and jQuery Mobile
• Understanding of LAMP stacks
• Experience with leading/delivering front-end application development frameworks, platform technologies, shared code, and APIs
• Understanding of object-oriented programming
• Experience with standard CMS tools
• 5 or more years of software development experience (include references/links to previous jobs with your application).
