We have an immediate need for a Network/Development Operations Engineer.
WE WILL ALSO CONSIDER HIRING SOMEONE WITH MUCH LESS EXPERIENCE.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain, upgrade, and monitor all network appliances and Windows/Linux servers at corporate office and co-location facilities.
• Build, configure, maintain, deploy, and monitor Linux and Windows servers.
• Oversee multiple active directory environments.
• Manage backup system (Symantec Backup Exec).
• Help manage Cisco VOIP system.
• Document configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Setup necessary servers for Webjuice's proprietary platform.
• Participate in help desk duties and resolve tickets in a timely manner.
• Participate 24X7 on call rotation.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Travel to Webjuice's co-location facilities located in Milpitas and downtown San Jose.
• Implementation of Nagios monitoring and automatic diagnostics solutions.
• Network troubleshooting.
• Router configuration.
• Production application issues troubleshooting.
• Provide and support the implementation of business solutions.
Required Skills/Experience:
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux operation and internals.
• Ability to write maintainable automation scripts in at least one shell dialect (bash, csh, zsh … ), and at least one high-level language (python, perl, ruby … )
• Ability to troubleshoot TCP/IP issues referencing the OSI model
• Experience with Load Balancing devices-F5 BIG IP
• Experience with SAN Technologies-EMC/Netapp
• Experience with HA systems-Redhat LUCI HA
• Experience in RAID configuration and redundancy
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting layer 2 devices and fiber-channel networks
• Strong experience with Layer3 IP Routing protocols, BGP, VPN-IPSEC, and MPLS
• Strong experience and ability to design, configure, and manage TCP/IP based networks, especially VLANS and trunking
• Experience administering large number of linux servers within a colo environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Self-direction, perseverance, fast learning, good energy level, and positive attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
• Ability to work in a cooperative and team environment, as well as, the ability to work independently.
