SOFTWARE –ENGINEER - AUTOMATION

We seek an expert software developer to design and develop automated software QA test tools and implement infrastructure processes, such as continuous integration. We need to increase the degree of automation in the testing process for a set of rapidly evolving, Linux-based applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work closely within the software development and QA teams to devise test harnesses and scripts, using the scripting or programming language best suited to the specific area under test.
• Design and implement automated QA tests of complex, stateful software systems in distributed client-server environment. This may include extending existing simulation tools.
• Recommend and implement additional tools and procedures to improve test coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness for mission-critical systems.
• Recommend and implement tools to improve code quality, such as software static analysis tools.
• Work with other developers to improve and extend continuous integration system.
• In addition to Engineering, you will work closely with Operations and Product Marketing.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Expert level Linux user.
• Expert level software development experience in Python, SQL, HTTP, and C++.
• Strong experience with databases.
• Experience with high-availability, high-performance software systems.
• Strong with standard QA tools and techniques.
• Very familiar with Unix-based source control systems, preferably git.
• Must be responsive, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Ability to pass background security check, including drug screening.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Knowledge and experience of Jenkins or other UNIX-based continuous integration tools.
• Experience with Firebird database and/or experience with NoSQL databases.
• Experience in data center, HVAC, and/or building control systems applications.
• Familiarity with, or background in, Big Data.
• Background in physics, fluid mechanics, or complex mathematics.
