The position of Senior Network Engineer will work with others in the organization to support and manage Pacific Metrics' production IT infrastructure. This position will have the opportunity to help design, develop, manage and maintain IT solutions that support Pacific Metrics' production operations. The position has firm deadlines tions that support Pacific Metrics' production operations. The position has firm deadlines and includes some 24/7 network monitoring.

Under the direct supervision of the Software Engineering Manager, the Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for the following activities:
• Operate and maintain aspects of Pacific Metrics production IT infrastructure including the following:
o Firewall and load balancer appliances
o Switch and routing equipment
o VMWare virtualization infrastructure
o Linux/Unix operating systems
o Third party web applications including Apache httpd, Apache Tomcat, JBoss, etc.
o DNS infrastructure
o MySQL Databases (installation, configuration and other basic administration)
o Automated backup facilities
o Automated monitoring facilities
o Certificate management
• Help forecast and plan IT infrastructure upgrades to meet program needs.
• Collaborate in the planning and design of network solutions including highly available solutions.
• Evaluate new information technologies that enhance process efficiency, improve user satisfaction, increase security or reduce cost.
• Provide guidance and management surrounding account administration, single sign on and Federated Identity solutions.
• Manage and maintain security within the production IT infrastructure.
• Conduct onsite network maintenance when needed.
• Respond to automated system alerts and quickly and reliably analyze symptoms and diagnose root causes, and recommend an effective course of action to resolve the situation.
• Be available to work an estimated average of one night per week, and one weekend per month.
• Occasional travel to our collocated hosting facility in Santa Clara and our Denver office is required.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years network administration and engineering experience.
• 3+ years Linux/Unix systems administration experience.
• 2+ years of experience with web server and application server configuration.
• 2+ years VMWare or other virtualization administration experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing firewall and load balancer appliances.
• 2+ year experience with MySQL database server configuration.
• Experience in the following areas desirable:
o Managing DNS infrastructure
o Single sign on and federated identity systems
o Automated backup & monitoring
o Certificate management
o F5 Load Balancers
o Fortinet Firewalls
• Any of following certifications are desirable: VMWare Certified Professional, Fortinet Certified Network Security Administrator, Redhat Certified Systems Engineer, CompTIA Network+ and SANS GIAC Security Essentials Certification.
• Be able to work well in a team environment and be willing to take direction, and to help other team members when appropriate.
• Work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to perform well in an environment that focuses on producing tangible results in a defined timeframe.
• Ability to work overtime or irregular hours when needed
