Job Description
As an IT Program Manager your specific responsibilities will include:
• Ensure integration of projects and adjusts project scope, timing, and budgets as needed, based on the needs of the business.
• Track key project milestones and recommending adjustments to Project Managers.
• Program point of contact for communications, milestones and review briefings.
• Highly effective organization of meetings to ensure flow, participation, progress, proactive mitigation of risks and issues; can train others.
• Develop, update and maintain program plan and other program-level documentation.
• Plan and direct cross-project (program level) schedules to ensure the integrated program is completed on time and within budget.
• Analyze and facilitate resolution of program-level issues; carefully controls change.
• Communicate status of program within and across departments.
• Optimize results through highly effective communications.
• Independently works on highly complex or enterprise wide IT projects or programs consisting of multiple projects.
• Oversee development of approach and planning for projects within program.
• Define communications strategy and plan, and optimize results through highly effective communications.
• Coordinates the integrated project/program estimates.
• Estimate the efforts of tasks and initiatives to determine total timeline and detailed budget for projects/program.
• Determine program parameters, design approach/strategy, and establish program plan; oversee development of approach and planning for projects within program. Develop the program strategy, supporting business case and various high-level project plans.
• Overall status reporting and stability of program oriented work efforts.
• Issue and risk reporting and communications as appropriate.
• Independent budget reporting and forecast reporting to Portfolio manager for purposes of regular Portfolio rollups.
• Interactive budget reporting to manage capital versus expense allocation with IT Finance.
• Full meeting documentation, decision documentation, published and posted to project-specific sharepoint site.
• Consistent and full updates of project-specific sharepoint site to ensure it can be utilized for the most up-to-date information on the project by all project stakeholders.
• Communicate with IT leadership, business leadership and IT Business Consultants to communicate program strategy, direction and changes.
• Partner with senior leadership of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise program.
• Utilize knowledge of company culture, history, and past programs to proactively define approaches, strategies, and plans to optimize execution of assigned program and minimize interruption/problems.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor�s degree or equivalent work experience required, preferably in IT Project Management.
• 10+ years IT Experience.
• 7+ years Project Management experience.
• 2+ years Program Management experience.
• 3+years experience in overall Leadership role.
• PMP or comparable PM certification. PgMP or Six Sigma certification desired.
• Experience in supervising, mentoring, and guiding functional and technical staff.
• Experience in budget management and impact analysis.
• Experience in project planning, implementation and management fundamentals.
• Documentation and communication skills.
• Experience with MS products.
• Leadership, decision making, program analysis and solving skills.
• Matrix management skills and experience in SDLC.
• Intermediate knowledge of IT applications and infrastructure environment.
• Demonstrated experience at maintaining forward progress despite conflicting priorities and competition for resources, able to mentor others in this skill.
