We seek a Senior Software Engineer to join our Boulder-based team who will design and implement embedded software for next generation IP based precise time and frequency delivery and distribution systems.
The Senior Software Development Engineer is paramount to the success of the software systems development team and will have considerable interface with Engineering, Marketing and Sales. It is considered critical this individual engages their specialized knowledge, creativity, company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex technical challenges.
*Key responsibilities for this role include:
*Designing, developing, coding, testing and implementing system software for customer use by identifying systems requirements, the planning and implementation of potential enhancements.
*Interfacing with hardware design and development - as software systems' compatibility may affect hardware architecture decisions.
*Establishing the processes needed for new systems and maintaining existing systems.
*Providing work leadership to others. May review and mentor the work of less experienced software engineers.
Preferred Experience Requirements:
*Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
*Minimum 10 years of embedded software design experience with at least a minimum of 5 years' experience writing programs for embedded Linux
*Solid programming experience in C and C++ with emphasis on embedded systems
*Hands on experience with embedded Linux development environment and tool chain
*Solid understanding of OS coding techniques such as threading, processes, drivers, interrupts, etc
*Solid experience of using IP protocols and network programming
*Understand hardware subsystems, interfaces and hardware debugging method
*Excellent communication, writing and organizational skills
*US Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required
Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas will be greatly valued:
*Packet network time synchronization protocols, such as NTP and IEEE-1588
*Telecom protocols and technologies such as E1, T1, SDH
*Wireless communication systems and networks
*Network security protocols such as Radius and others
*FPGA development or interfacing
