[KITlist-Tech] Senior Hardware (Board Level) Engineer (San Jose, CA)

Symmetricom is looking for a Senior Hardware (Board Level) Engineer to join the San Jose-based GBU enterprise engineering team to develop system level electronics for precise time and frequency products.

Job Responsibilities
- Direct experience designing board and system level electronics (PCB) with analog, digital and mixed signal components
- Work experience with the entire development cycle; including product definition, prototyping and production
- Lead hardware project development on new technologies for commercial application
- Collaborate in a dynamic lab environment with physicists, PCB layout engineers, software developers, and technicians

Essential Qualifications
- BSEE or BS in related field
- Minimum 8 years related work experience
- Commercial and enterprise system design experience
- Able to mentor more junior members of the team, provide accurate input for project estimation
- Electrical design skills with FPGA´s, Microcontrollers, Analog Circuits and Data Converters, expert at board and system level debug and test
- Expert at using common lab equipment including digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DVM, etc.
- Able to work collaboratively on multi discipline R&D projects (thermal, power, compliance and software)
- Experience generating quality documentation to support their work from system specifications to ECOs
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Willingness to travel 20%

Additional Desired Qualifications
- MSEE or MS in related field
- Direct experience with any of the following is considered a plus: analog technologies, analog filters, op-amps, power supplies circuits, servo loops, low-power design, low noise design
- Direct experience designing or applying any of the following digital technologies: LAN/WAN network interfaces, embedded DSP, ultra low power microcontrollers
- Experience with precision time references a plus
